Please acknowledge this statement by typing your name in the space below: "APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl® places the highest priority on the safety of all participants and the well-being of the communities in which the participants live. In addition, a founding principle of the APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl® is that participation is an educational opportunity intended to encourage participants to become more ethically considerate and thoughtful. As such, it is a basic expectation of a regional Ethics Bowl competition that is a qualifying event for the APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl® National Championship that participants act in an ethical manner during all events, and this includes showing regard for the safety of one's fellow participants. Given this, participants must comply with all Covid-19 safety protocols imposed by a host institution when coming to campus to participate in an on-campus event. Absent such protocols, or above and beyond any existing protocols, participants are further expected to engage in behavior that will best ensure the safety of others, including the practice of physical distancing and mask wearing whenever possible. If a region is concerned that a high level of compliance with basic Covid-19 protocols is not possible for the event, either as a result of requirements imposed by the host institution or as a result of voluntary compliance, such regions are encouraged to convert the competition to a virtual event." *
