When you participate in an outdoor field-based activity... What should you wear?

1) Wear sturdy shoes with a good tread/traction (no open toe, no flip flops, etc.) that you don't mind getting dirty.  Hiking shoes are great, sneakers are Ok.  Waterproof boots are best if it is muddy.

2) Wear long pants (old jeans). Trust me - you want this protection. You need to protect your legs from anything and everything!

3) Plan for the weather... A coat/rain coat/heavy sweater with layers and a t-shirt should you get warm.

4) Wear a hat to cover your head and keep sun out of your eyes.

5) Bring a pair of work gloves if you have them.

6) Use sun-screen for all exposed parts and hand sanitizer frequently.

7) Use some bug spray.  Pants/long sleeves are good - as your first and best defense.

Other items:
Bring a water bottle.
