TCKs (Third Culture Kids) are people who have grown up in a culture other than their parents' or in a culture that is not of their country or nationality, and who have lived a large part of their lives in a culture that is not their own. For example, your mother might be from Brazil, your father from Syria, and you grew up in Denmark. Or your parents are from India, yet you've spent your life going to school in Japan and South Africa and Mexico. The language you speak at home might not be the language you speak at school or the one spoken in the country where you live. Most UWC students identify with one primary place-- "I'm John from the US, "but some of us feel strong connections to more than one place and these are TCKs.
This survey is intended to help us gather info about how the UWC experience has resonated with TCK students. If you identify as a TCK and are willing to share your own experience with us, please submit the survey here by November 1, 2021.
Sincerely,
John Carpenter
