100 Mile Club is going virtual this year!
Due to COVID-19 and restrictions, we will be “running” our program virtual this year. The rules:
1. You are responsible for tracking your own miles.
2. Only running or walking miles count.
3. Everyone in your family can participate!
After you have signed up, you will receive a mileage tracking poster via email. You will be responsible for filling in the poster as you walk or run your miles. For every 25 miles you complete, you will then email a picture of the completed tracker to the 100 Mile Club Coordinator. Once a month, we’ll set up a 2-hour window (most likely in the evening) for you to come to Candalaria's playground to pick up your incentives.
There are several ways to track what is actually a mile. The 100 Mile Club suggests using one of the following apps:
- World Walking (Join the group “Candalaria 100 Mile Club” and we can “walk” these amazing places together.)
- Strava
- Run Keeper
- Map my Walk
If you don’t have access to a phone for your child (and you don’t want to try to keep up with them), AFTER 3:30 PM on weekdays, the playground at the school reverts to a city park, so you can run on the track there. It is 5 ⅓ laps to a mile. Because school starts on September 15, 2020, that is the day that we will start.
The program will end on June 4, 2021, and will have a celebration the following week dependent on school safety/social distancing guidelines.
