Invading Species Awareness Program Ambassadors (ISAPA)
Ontario’s Invading Species Awareness Program (ISAP) is looking for secondary or post secondary students to join our Ambassador Program!

In the past, the Invading Species Awareness Program has received requests from students asking for volunteer or career opportunities. To meet this demand and help spread awareness on invasive species prevention in Ontario, we decided to bring passionate and interested students together to participate in ecosystem conservation through a NEW program - the ISAP Ambassadors (ISAPA).

Made possible by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the ISAP Ambassador Program aims to support student lead initiatives and existing environmental clubs within schools/institutions to incorporate invasive species focused community activities and events. Ambassadors will learn about invasive species identification, prevention and management strategies. Ambassadors can use the training received and any tools they may need provided by the program to work towards coordinating small-scale events, such as invasive plant pulls, and/or efforts focused on the creation local community or school gardens using native species.

Ambassadors will have access to a digital toolkit containing trainings for event preparation, staff support, equipment, and funding (if needed) for materials and resources required to implement the Ambassador's events. This opportunity is a great resume builder, and one which you will gain leadership skills, invasive species related knowledge, and hands-on experience with ecosystem restoration within your own community.

Interested? Register below and our coordinator will be in contact with you shortly!
