The Sandy Spring Bluegrass Jam is pleased to offer a workshop prior to our monthly open jam session. Bluegrass Basics - Learning to Jam is designed as an introduction for people new to the concept of a bluegrass jam session. We'll go over the general workings of a jam session, what to expect and how to read the room, and then spend some extended time on a couple of standard bluegrass tunes. We'll break them down to their basic components to see what's happening and what role your instrument plays in the bluegrass ensemble. Bluegrass Basics - Learning to Jam will run from 1:00pm-1:45pm with a short break before the open jam starts at 2:00pm.
