Experiential group work leadership training led by Dr. Craig Whisker, Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Social Worker, being held at the Mercy Centre, 104 The Drive, Epsom, Auckland 1023 (onsite parking available) on 28-30 November & 1-2 December 2022.

Times: 1pm to 5pm on 28th; 9am to 5pm on 29th, 30th & 1st; 9am to 12.30pm on 2nd.

Your investment is $690 including GST. A deposit of $150 or full payment will confirm your place on the workshop. A tax invoice will be sent to you or your nominated payer's email address within a few days of completing this registration form. The invoice will include bank account details for making online payments. Credit card facilities are not available.

The Mercy Centre is relatively wheelchair-friendly. There is wheelchair access to the group room via a ramp at the side entrance, and suitable bathroom facilities. The venue is quiet, being set back from the road.

Morning & Afternoon Teas

Simple morning & afternoon tea options are provided (coffee, tea, fruit, biscuits). Lunch is not supplied. You are welcome to bring your own lunch and use the kitchen facilities to heat food, etc, or buy your lunch from outlets on Manukau Road, a 10-minute walk away.

Agreement for Participation in Training Event *

Participants agree to each of the following statements by ticking the adjoining box:

(1) Values Guiding Professional Practice during Training Events: Group members are unique individuals who are able to make decisions and take charge of their own lives. The group leader honours the trust placed in them by group members by holding the interests and wellbeing of group members as paramount; providing a safe working environment and taking actions to protect group members from harm; and taking responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional boundaries between themselves and group members. The group leader also fosters the autonomy of group members by applying the principles of free choice and informed consent.

(2) Informed Consent to Participate: Group members freely consent to participate in the training event. Group members are informed by the group leader about what is involved in the training event and the group leader's ways of working. Group members have the right to refine or withdraw their consent at any time, including the right not to participate in any activity, and this is respected by the group leader.

(3) Privacy and Confidentiality: The relationship between the group leader and group members is a professional practitioner-client relationship. Group members have the right to privacy and confidentiality. This means that all private information concerning group members and their circumstances, and all communications between the group leader and group members, are confidential and privileged unless consent is given to disclose particular information. Exceptions to these policies may occur when the group leader, (a) identifies a risk to a group member or public safety in the immediate or foreseeable future; (b) identifies a group member’s competence to make a decision is impaired; (c) is subject to legal requirements to reveal information; or (d) responds to a complaint about professional practice.

(4) Limitations of Privacy and Confidentiality: During the training event group members interact with other group members and with the group leader, and these interactions are expressed and shared on the understanding that all group members will honour each other’s privacy and confidentiality. This means that if group members are discussing other group members and their interactions with anyone outside of the group, they will take care to ensure anonymity is protected.

(5) Professional Supervision: The group leader regularly consults with a professional supervisor about their work and ensures the anonymity of group members is protected when doing so.

(6) Notetaking: The group leader takes notes about what occurs during a training event for professional purposes, such as for professional development, leadership accountability, and reflection with their professional supervisor. These notes are stored securely in the care of the group leader, and group members may request a copy of any notes relating to them. If group members take their own notes, they ensure that anonymity is protected by not naming anyone and not describing what occurs in ways that might enable someone from outside the group to identify those involved.

(7) Undertaking Research: When group members participate in research conducted by the group leader that utilises notes or other recordings of group members’ participation as the basis for scholarly dissemination, such as for journal articles or professional presentations, the consent of group members is required. If the group is specifically a research group then a separate informed consent agreement for that purpose is made prior to the commencement of researching. If the group is not a research group per se and the group leader wishes to research the work of group members after the event they will seek the consent of those group members involved, including consent to utilise the group leader's notes about the group members.

(8) Raising Concerns About the Group Leader: The group leader is a member of the Australian & Aotearoa New Zealand Psychodrama Association (AANZPA) and is subject to its Code of Ethics (see: https://aanzpa.org/wp-content/uploads/AANZPA-Code-of-Ethics-October-2021.pdf). The Association also has a Complaints Procedure (see: https://aanzpa.org/wp-content/uploads/AANZPA-Complaints-Procedure-July-2016-Oct2021-Update.pdf). Group members who have concerns about the group leader's practice may raise these with the group leader and may request a meeting with the group leader to do so without charge. Group members may also follow the AANZPA Complaints Procedure by writing to the AANZPA Ethics Secretary outlining the concerns they have. The AANZPA Ethics Secretary will advise group members about the Complaints Process and sources of further information and support.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation more than 14 days before the workshop is eligible for a refund minus 20%
Cancellation between 3-14 days before the workshop is eligible for a refund minus 50%
No refund is applicable for a ‘no show’ or cancellation less than 3 days before the workshop.
Compassionate waiver of these policies is at the discretion of the organiser.

If the workshop is cancelled prior to 28 November 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, or any reason owing to the organiser, full refunds will be made. If Covid-19 shuts down the workshop after it has started, refunds will be made pro rata with the amount of workshop participants have received.
