If you are sending a drawing to be engraved, instructions on taking the photo and sending it are included below.
Please note that these boards are a natural wood product so two pieces are the same. In addition, due to the nature of wood products when they are engraved, the actual shade of the color of the engraving may vary slightly from lighter to darker depending on the board and the drawing.
While boards are meant to be displayed, if you do need to wash it, the board should be hand washed; never soaked in water or put in the dishwasher. If your board begins to show signs of wear, its finish can be restored with food safe mineral oil. Always dry it completely before storage.
How to create handwritten examples (e.g. handwriting or drawings)
- use a fine point sharpie, felt tip pen or gel pen (NOT ball point pens) on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper
- scan the full sheet of paper, take a photo or drop off the paper to me (photo instructions are below)
the middle finder if sending us hand tracings so we can match as close as possible to the actual size
How to provide photos of handwritten samples:
- make sure the photo is on a flat surface
- take the photo from directly above the recipe (not at an angle)
- make sure the recipe is well lit so there is little to no shadow; natural daylight is best
- make sure the photo is clear and not blurry before sending it
