Digital Student Portfolios: Fostering Curiosity and Encouraging Engagement

This presentation illustrates how language instructors can use online portfolios (such as the ePortfolio on Canvas) to help students 1) engage meaningfully with authentic cultural materials, and 2) gain a sense of ownership over their learning process. Participants will see examples of portfolio prompts and student responses, and will workshop ideas about how this type of assignment could be adapted for their own courses.
