This National Music Education Wānanga will be held at Te Kauri Marae in Huntly.

Kaupapa: The purpose of this wānanga is to further develop, strengthen and embed Matauranga Māori and understanding - the who, when, why, how to implement Te Ao Māori aspects into education, to build cultural competencies, composition and Te Tiriti Alignment.

Facilitators: Kelly Kahukiwa - alignment with Te Tiriti, Horomona Horo - Taonga Puoro & embedding the principles of Te Ao Māori and tikanga, learning concepts of Tika, Kawa & Pono (Ihi, Wehi, Wana), Wiremu Sarich - traditional Māori games, whanaungatanga activities, play in terms of brain development and to discern classroom energies. 

This is fully funded if you are a MENZA member, or $50 for non-MENZA members (this includes membership). Please bring a koha for the Pōwhiri at 5pm at Te Kauri Marae, Taupiri.
