CymaSpace provides outreach services for art and culture organizations that recognize the need to create an accessible and inclusive environment for the Northwest Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community at their event. We offer access consulting, source and place service providers (sign language interpreters), and assist in planning the logistics of access at your event(s).
Once per year, individuals or small nonprofit organizations can apply for the Access Grant Award. The award is a micro-grant meant to supplement your event's access service budget. Each provided service is determined on a case-by-case basis. The funds will be awarded at our discretion. Services covered include referral and placement of Sign Language Interpreters and/or use of our portable Open Captioning System. All monetary transactions for services will be handled by CymaSpace. This award is not meant to replace funds that your organization is required to provide for access services under ADA law. This award is meant only to supplement budgets for nonprofits serving under-represented communities.

Disbursement of funds is contingent upon the following conditions being met:
• Receipt of this CymaSpace Program Award Application.
• Recipient's compliance with requirements of this application.
• Availability of trust funds. ALL AWARDS ARE DEPENDENT ON FUNDING MADE BY OUR GRANT FOUNDATIONS. CYMASPACE MAY NOT HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE AT CERTAIN PERIODS.

• Recipient agrees to comply with the requirements laid out in the Electronic Press Kit. CymaSpace is currently indebted to the Oregon Cultural Trust for providing funds for this Access Program. We are required to follow protocol in order to make the funds available. Mention “Accessibility Services provided by CymaSpace with support from Oregon Cultural Trust” in your printed, electronic and social media related to the event we are sponsoring. Your organization’s annual budget determines the cost for services we will award you:

● 0-$50,000 we will supplement your access services budget up to $300
● $50,001-$100,000 we will supplement your access services budget up to $250
● Annual budgets over $100,000 are ineligible for this award.

You may want to consider other support options we provide to support a dynamic and DHH-inclusive stage event. CymaSpace Lab offers a full selection of rentals separate from the basic access award program. A Sound-Visualization Lighting System rental, Tactile Audio Equipment rental, Audio-Video Equipment rentals, and technical support services needed to operate this equipment are available.
