Use this form to apply for the Lisbon Digital Nomads Organizers Team
Hi there 👋 our team of Lisbon Digital Nomad organizers is always on the lookout for new community leaders to join and help coordinate the amazing community that we have. We are now at over 20,000 members on meetup and our Thursday meetup often has over 200 attendees every week.

Currently we are seeking people to join us for the 2024 season and beyond. You'll need to setup and host our flag-ship Thursday event alongside our team (we'll train you in how to do this and co-host with you until you're comfortable). This meetup usually has over 200 attendees through the year so please only apply if this is something you feel you can handle.

We offer significant personal growth opportunities in learning event production on a large scale, community organizing skills, event marketing skills, and more.

What should you know:
- We are a team of volunteers, these events are not for profit and we try to find the most awesome ways to connect members on a personal and a professional level.
- We do this for the joy of connecting people and giving back to our amazing community.
- We do not get paid for running these events, this is purely voluntary
- The meetups have been going on since 2017 with the help, joy and effort of different members along the way. We've hosted over 1100 events in Lisbon to date.
- We have our Thursday meetup for networking and getting together, but we also have more specific events like running group, talks, dinners, comedy, co-working days, sustainability
- This role is best suited for people who enjoy meeting new people, making friends and are really good at changing between different conversational topics in one night (what you would call social butterflies)
- There is an on boarding process in which we test if we fit. We offer guidance and support in setting up the first events and we have a list of venues from where to start. But we expect that you are self driven, motivated, and interested in giving back to the community.

What will you get:
* new like minded friends with whom you can go deeper and create your special tribe,
* people's appreciation - they will approach you to mention how much they appreciate what you do,  and they really do - this meetup has impacted and changed people's lives in uncountable ways
* the opportunity to give back to the community you are part of and help it grow, inspire others along the way
* a seat at the organizers table - we get together for dinners, drinks, massages, and to plan the future of the meetup and nomad community in Lisbon
* a lot of fun and putting your own touch on the meetups. Considering doing an active "workout in the park" meetup?! By all means, once you feel comfortable to organize the Thursday one, we actually encourage to also opt for the things that spark more joy in you. Through our community several new initiatives have popped up in Lisbon - the comedy scene, the nomad run group, board game nights, storytelling, and more.

What is expected of you:
- a commitment of at least 12-18 months in the organizers team (we understand that life is flowing and as digital nomads we go places, but to save everyone's energy we want to start from the beginning with this commitment) What this means is that once you are done on-boarding we do expect that you will be a part of the team and contribute to hosting the meetups for a while. So think about this carefully before you apply.
- hosting at least one Thursday meetup a month (or 5/6 weeks apart depending on how big our team is). This is a minimal requirement for everyone in the team and it works well planning ahead of time. During traveling we encourage organizing from afar, we have a system where you can setup the meetup from afar and have a stand-in host but this will be explained to your during the onboarding process. Of course, our team members are allowed to 'nomad' but we need the show in Lisbon to keep running so we all contribute towards that even while away.
- being active and communicative on Slack with the rest of the team when we are planning the meetup schedule or discussing other ideas. Providing active feedback on decisions and directions that we are taking. We are a voluntary community organization so everyone's voice matters but you must speak up and take an interest too!
- having fun and giving back to our community members.
