We would love all students to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge
https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html which opens on 28 February 2022. Students can upload all books that have been read since September 2021. The PRC offers a fabulous opportunity for children to explore and read from an extensive list of great literature. The challenge requires them to read (K-2 students can be read to, have a shared reading experience or read independently) and upload the titles to the PRC site by Friday 19 August 2022.
K-2: experience 30 books (25 must be PRC titles)
3-4: read 20 books (15 must be PRC titles)
5-6: read 20 books (15 must be PRC titles)
7-9: read 20 books (15 must be PRC titles)
In a series on the PRC booklist, you can read any two books as PRC books. You can read up to five other books from the same series as Personal Choice books. Many of the PRC titles are available from our Library with easily identifiable PRC stickers. K-2 are red, 3-4 are green, 5-6 are purple and 7-9 are blue. A full list of titles can be found on the PRC website
https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.htmlStudents who complete the PRC for four (non-consecutive) years earn a Gold Award; seven years, Platinum; Years 3-9 (consecutively) receive a medal. To find out more about the Premier’s Reading Challenge, visit their website:
