Fall 2024 CFC Audition Form
We are so glad you're interested in singing with Cape Fear Chorale! Auditions will be held in the afternoon on Saturday, June 15. After you submit the audition form, Aaron Peisner, our director, will contact you by email to schedule a time. Auditions will be held in his office at the UNCW Cultural Arts Building, room 1060.

If you are unable to audition on June 15, another audition date can be arranged. Please contact director@capefearchorale.org to request a different audition date.

The audition will take approximately 15 minutes, and will include vocalizing in your high and low range, singing a short song like "My Country 'Tis of Thee," "Amazing Grace," or "Happy Birthday," pitch-matching/aural skills, and sight-singing.


Cape Fear Chorale recommends that singers be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Exceptions may be requested at president@capefearchorale.org

Once the form is received, you will receive an email to schedule an audition on Saturday, June 15

Purpose: Cape Fear Chorale is committed to building and enriching our community through exceptional choral artistry and by creating meaningful, educational, and inclusive musical experiences.

Membership:
Singers who will commit to prepare independently between group rehearsals.
Singers who can sight read and learn music rapidly.
Singers who can regularly attend scheduled rehearsals.
Singers who are a minimum age of 18 years old.

Performance attire:
Regulation dresses as prescribed by CFC (CFC will order dresses as needed, which currently cost approximately $89), black closed-toe shoes, OR
Black tuxedos, a white long-sleeved shirt worn with a black tuxedo coat, pants, bow tie, black socks, and black dress shoes.

Membership fee:
$60 per semester. Need-based scholarships are available. Contact John Clyatt at president@capefearchorale.org for more information. Please note: 100% attendance is expected except in emergency; however, each singer is allowed 3 absences per semester.  Please note that attendance at the entire final rehearsal is mandatory for participation in the concert.
Regular rehearsals:
      Mondays- 7:15 - 9:15 p.m. All rehearsals will be in the Choir Room at Grace United Methodist Church (unless otherwise noted), 401 Grace St., Wilmington NC.

The first rehearsal will be Monday, August 26, 2024.

Sunday, Nov 17, 6:30-9:30: Working rehearsal with chorus and orchestra (Chorus arrives at 7:15) at UNCW Cultural Arts Building, room 1080
Monday, Nov 18, 7-9:30: Soloists and orchestra ONLY, at Grace
Tuesday, Nov 19, 7-10 Final Rehearsal at Kenan Auditorium
CONCERT: Wednesday, Nov 20, 7:30 p.m. at Kenan Auditorium
