Hello, and thank you for your interests in participating in our research! We are a group of researchers in the Linguistics Department at the University of Washington. We are currently looking for deaf and hearing individuals to participate in a series of studies regarding ASL and English use. In this questionnaire, we will gather information about your language background. If your background fits our research criteria, we will contact you for language experiments. Each experiment session takes about 1 hour, and you will receive a $20 gift card for your participation.This questionnaire will take no more than 10 minutes to complete. If you have any questions while filling in the questionnaire, or if you'd prefer to respond to the questionnaire in ASL, please contact us (email: nllab@uw.edu) for assistance.Taking part in this questionnaire is completely voluntary. All information gathered from you will be kept confidential and will only be used for research purposes. This project was given exempt status by the UW Human Subjects Division (UW IRB STUDY00011219).
