Discrimination-free scenes for everyone*! - A survey from GLADT e.V.
Queer spaces in Berlin are essential for the free development and a self-determined life of queer people. However, even in these hard-won public spaces, situations can still occur where people experience various forms of discrimination, exclusion and/or violence based on certain characteristics. A queer space is any public space and any facility in which queer people are present - regardless of whether the respective facility defines itself as a queer space or not.

This questionnaire is designed to ask you as a collaborating or active person in a queer place specifically about problems of racial discrimination. By racism we mean more than just right-wing extremist resentments, but a centuries-old system of social oppression and devaluation of people with "skin colour", "ethnicity", "religion" or "culture" classified as different. Racist structures are secured and consolidated by unequal power relations in society, politics, the economy and legislation/jurisprudence. For people affected by racism, this has an impact on almost every area of their lifes. From social and political participation to access to housing, to profession/education, to health care and to leisure activities (such as discriminatory admission policies to clubs or bars) - Black, Indigenous and People Of Color experience exclusion, which at best makes them feel that they do not quite belong - or at worst poses a deadly threat to their life.

By answering the questionaire, we gain an insight into the queer places' own perspective on the problems that arise when it comes to discrimination and its reduction. The aim of this survey is to analyse the needs of queer places with regard to a more inclusive policy in their own structures, to develop concepts for action together with experts from the Berlin queer-scene and, finally, to strengthen discrimination-free scenes for everyone.

We would be very grateful if you could answer the questions as openly and honestly as possible. You support us in our fight for more equality and solidarity within our communities.

The answer should not take longer than 10-20 minutes. You can be sure that we will handle your answers in a DGSVO-compliant manner and that all data collected will be managed anonymously and securely.
