Which MPUSD parent & family programs interest you? 
MPUSD is excited to offers various parenting & family classes throughout the school year. If you have a child or care for one, chances are you have had your fair share of challenging days. These programs give families the opportunity to learn and collaborate with other parents or families on how to better support their children at home and at school.

Spring 2024 Schedule: ***Food & child care provided***
  1. Opening Doors (age 0-5) [8 week series: Only in-person English Session]:  Centered on cultural values, strengths, and experiences of parents/families with children ages 0-5 years old. The course focuses on early childhood development to prepare them for success in school. Date: Tuesday, January 16th-March 5th. Location: Marina Child Development Center (portable #5). Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
  2. NEW Face & Heart Program [8 week series: Only in-person English Session, MAX 20 participants]: Centered in cultural healing, strengthens family relationship, build on cultural integrity of the parents/families background while guiding them to collectively support one another as they raise their children. Date: Wednesday, January 17th-March 6th. Location: Los Arboles Middle School (Library). Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
  3. Loving Solutions (age 5-10) [10 week series: Only in-person Spanish Session]: Families will learn how to communicate effectively with their child, prevent arguments, improve school performance, increase cooperation, develop positive behavior and sleeping habits with their 5-10 year olds. Date: Monday, February 26 - May 13th 16th-March 5th. Location: Del Rey Woods Elementary School (TBD). Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm.
  4. NEW PIQE Family Bridge to College (age 16-18) [4 week series-ONLY FOR MPUSD HS Families]: This program supports only MPUSD high school families by focusing on how families can best support their children as they transition to college. In-person sessions will be offered separately in English and Spanish.
    • Topic includes: Ensuring student success in college, Transitioning to college life, Benefits of attending college, and Information on financial aid.
    • Marina High School [Only MAHS families]: Date: Wednesday, January 17th- Ends on February 7th. Location: TBD Time: 6:00pm-7:30pm.
