Grad Student Event Committee Application
Do you have a great idea for the next grad student event? Do you have a passion for event planning? Do you want to contribute to creating the best possible grad student social experiences at USU? The School of Graduate Studies marketing team is looking for current and incoming grad students to collaborate with in the planning and hosting of grad student events. Students from all campus locations are encouraged to apply and past event planning experience is not required. Committee members can expect to be involved in all aspects of event planning. Responsibilities may include:
  • Conducting market research for new event opportunities.
  • Creating and conducting post-event surveys.
  • Networking to find speakers, entertainment, activities, etc. for events.
  • Donor and local community outreach.
  • Collaborating with committee members and SGS marketing team.
  • Event management including set up, event operations, cleanup. 
Events the School of Graduate Studies hosts:
  • New Student Orientation
  • Day on the Quad
  • Student Dinner Socials
  • Alumni Night
  • Grab 'n' Go Bag Finals Week Kit
  • 1-3 Graduate Training Series or Graduate Speaker Series per semester
  • Weekend Visit (Recruitment Weekend)
  • Graduate Program Coordinator Appreciation Party
  • Assisting Grad Life Director with grad week events
  • New events based on committee input!
Committee meetings will occur twice per month and as needed. Meeting schedules will vary each semester based on member availability. 5-10 spots available to begin as soon as Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters. There is no application deadline, seats on the committee will be filled as needed.
