Student Agreement-GRAD Participation
Dear Student and Parent,

We are so excited to be working with your family.  Alternative Education in Asheville City Schools is an option for students when their academic performance or other factors determine their needs are not met in the traditional educational setting. The purposes of the alternative learning program are:

(1) to intervene and address problems that prevent a student from achieving success in the regular educational setting;
(2) to reduce the risk that a student will drop out of school by providing resources to help the student resolve issues affecting his or her performance at school;
(3) to preserve a safe and orderly learning environment in the regular educational setting; and
(4) to insure that, if and when the student is returned to the regular educational setting, the student is equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in that environment.
 
The following guidelines are research-based strategies designed to support your student to be successful in school. We appreciate your support in the implementation of these guidelines.

My participation in GRAD is optional. If I choose to come to GRAD, but later change my mind there is a pathway for me to exit the program at the end of the semester with positive growth. *

I have been provided a copy of the GRAD Student and Parent Handbook which includes the Code of Conduct and Levels of Consequences for Violations of the Code of Conduct. I agree to abide by the Code of Conduct at all times while on school property. *
