Thank you for your interest in signing up as a mentor in the OSCOLA Student Mentorship Programme, in partnership with the Oxford University Bar Society!
It is challenging to navigate and succeed in getting one's foot into the legal industry and that is why mentors and role models are critical in empowering the next generation to tread the path you once took. Furthermore, the disruption and distress precipitated by COVID-19 have only made this process more challenging. As a mentor, you can help shape the lives of those who come after you and make a difference in their future! Moreover, this will also be a great opportunity for you to hone your communication and leadership skills. All students mentors will also be considered favourably should they apply for the upcoming OSCOLA Professional Mentorship Programme in HT22 with alumni legal practitioners.
The baseline commitment is to have one meeting with your mentee during MT21 and one during the winter break. The duration, location, and content discussed during each meeting is entirely up to you and your mentee.
All current Oxford students and recent graduates pursuing the GDL/LPC/BPTC can sign up to be a mentor. Applications are now being processed on a rolling basis and mentors will be notified via email of their mentee(s) in Week 2 of Michaelmas Term 2021.
