2024-2025 Transportation Registration Form
**  PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING  INFORMATION  BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR STUDENT FOR TRANSPORTATION **

Under the School Committee’s transportation policy, students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 are eligible for school bus transportation if they live more than one (1) mile from the school they attend and students in Grade 6 through Grade 12 are eligible for school bus transportation if they live more than two (2) miles from the school they attend.

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 who live more than two (2) miles from the school they attend are entitled to free transportation.  All other eligible students must pay a transportation fee of $200 per student with a family cap of $600 if their registration is completed and fees are paid before  4:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024. This fee may be waived if you qualify for free or reduced priced lunch.

For any registration received or transportation fee paid after 4:00 PM on June 7, 2024, a transportation fee of $250 per student with a family cap of $700 will apply. Registrations that are subject to a bus fee are not considered complete until the fee is paid in full.

ALL students requiring transportation for the 2024-2025 school year MUST be registered for school bus transportation as bus registration does not carry over from one school year to the next.  Please note:  students must be picked up and dropped off at the same bus stop location five days a week. There are no exceptions.

If seats are available, Open Seats will be granted to non-eligible students on a first come first served basis and will be subject to a transportation fee.  Students must be registered for an Open Seat on this 2024-2025 Online Registration form by selecting the Open Seat option in the eligibility section.

REGISTERING YOUR CHILD FOR AN OPEN SEAT WILL PLACE THEM ON A WAITING LIST AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE A SEAT ON THE BUS.  PAYMENT FOR AN OPEN SEAT IS NOT DUE AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION AND ADVANCED PAYMENT DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOUR STUDENT WILL BE GRANTED AN OPEN SEAT.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IT IS ULTIMATELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENT TO MAKE SURE THEIR CHILD GETS TO SCHOOL SAFELY.  PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY, IN ADVANCE, SHOULD YOUR CHILD NOT BE GRANTED A SEAT.

Please complete this form for each student requiring school bus transportation for the 2024-2025 school year.

Bus Conduct and Safety *
Transportation by bus to and from school is a privilege for students who qualify by the Rules and Regulations of the Northbridge School Committee and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The school bus is an extension of the school itself, and the rules regarding behavior and safety are the same as in school.  It shall be understood that the right of the student to use transportation to and from school is a qualified right dependent on good behavior. Consequences for misbehavior on the school bus will be handled by the school administrators.  Please note that repeated violations could result in the loss of bus privileges.  Please reference each school's handbook regarding bus conduct and safety expectations.
