All events shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA).
Please be advised that competition times will begin promptly at time designated in final email and it is imperative that the times be strictly enforced. Each soloist will receive advance notice of his/her competition times.
Although field entries are discouraged, it will be at the discretion of the pipe and drum director if field entries can be accepted and that late entries will not disrupt the competition schedule.
The order of play will be first to enter, last to play determined by postmark.
Drummers must provide their own accompanist or recording according to EUSPBA rules.
Competitors must be ready when called or be subject to disqualification.
Decisions by the Directors, Stewards, Monitors, and Judges will be final. Protests must be submitted in writing before the final awards ceremony. The piping and drumming director reserves the right to remove or combine events when not in conflict with EUSPBA rules.
Competitors must be in appropriate Highland attire (except Practice Chanter and Drum Pad) to compete and to receive awards.
No award medals will be worn during any competition or mass bands.
Entry passes will be available at the Piping and Drumming tent at the gate. No parking passes are necessary. PASSES WILL NOT BE MAILED.
Competition is subject to delay or complete cancellation due to weather on the day of the event. Registration money may not be returned.
The participant/s recognizes that participation in the Smoky Mountain Festival and Games (Games) involves a risk of physical injury including that caused by the negligence of the Participants, City of Townsend, Blount County Partnership, Blount County or the Smoky Mountain Festival and Games. By signing herein, the Participants voluntarily releases., waives and relinquishes any and current or future claims against Games, the City of Townsend, Blount County Partnership, Blount County or the Smoky Mountain Festival and Games for personal injury, property damage or wrongful death occurring to the Participant(s) arising out of participation in the Games, and agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Games, City of Townsend, Blount County Partnership, Blount County or the Smoky Mountain Festival and Games from any claim against it for personal injury, property damage or wrongful death to the Participants, to the extent allowed by law.
I also permit the Games or its sponsors to use my name or photograph of me or my organization participating in the Games for future promotional or publicity purposes, without obligation to me or my organization.
Smoky Mountain Festival and Games reserves the right to limit entries in any event based on available time to complete the event. Any band that is disallowed shall be notified no later than 3 weeks before the event or at the earliest opportunity.
