Institute of Islamic Area Studies at Sophia University invites Myriam Ababsa (the French Institute for the Near-East (IFPO)), and hold a research seminar on Raqqa, urban society in northern Syria, co-organized with Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A) “Research Project on Islam and Gender: Towards a Comprehensive Discussion” .
In this seminar, Myriam Ababsa will talk about the governance and reconstruction of Raqqa city from 1864 – 2023. The presentation will be followed by Yutaka Takaoka who will give a short presentation on Raqqa.
