Submit a request for zero-credit undergraduate research courses under your mentorship to be created. Sections will be created at each level ( UGR 191, UGR 291, UGR 391, UGR 491). Each mentor's UGR sections will have a title specific to the research area, requested below.
Students must submit the student request for permission to enroll. Before that permission is granted, you will be contacted to ensure that you have agreed to mentor that student during the enrolled semester. No student will be able to enroll in your course without your permission. In some cases, approval from your college to grant students laboratory access may also be required.
These courses provide a means for the Office of Undergraduate Research to assess the level of undergraduate research activity at USA. Like other courses, they will be recorded on student transcripts and faculty teaching records.
If you are requesting to create UGR courses after the drop/add period, it will have to go through the late schedule change process. If you have questions regarding late schedule addition of a UGR course, please email
undergradresearch@southalabama.edu .
**The student(s) registering late may be charged a late fee if they are not registered for the semester in which they are taking the UGR course.
