Intern Opportunities

Pathways To Learning (PTL) is a nonprofit who provides programing to various residential outdoor facilities.  PTL is offering the following internship programs.   Its mission is to provide an environment that fosters positive relationships, growth, and encouragement.  It will create outdoor based experiences that will sustain and enrich each youth’s physical and mental well-being Their experiences recognizes  that being outdoors creates valuable opportunities for youth to grow physically, emotionally, academically and socially.  It provides these experiences at three different residential camps as well as in the city.   In 2019 we will serve 13,000 youth many who are underserved.  The following are the various intern opportunities:  

Full time (resident) & Part time (student) intern at Tonto Creek Camp or Chauncey Ranch

Tonto Creek Camps & Chauncey Ranch are year-round internship programs designed for those who are committed to self-development, servant leadership, impacting our culture, and desire to join our staff in creating an environment.  After completing this program, it is expected that he/she should be able to enter the workforce as a culture influencer, leader among peers, and with a high emotional intelligence.
In addition to the invaluable life experience, interns will be paid a monthly stipend, room and board. Interns serve in many different areas; Administration, Adventure Activities, Outdoor Activities, Camp Operations, Marketing, etc. (ropes course, team building, hiking, etc.). Additionally, each intern will work as a team leader in areas that reflect their skills, gifts and personality.

Educational Field Instructor Intern (EFI)

One of our most impactful outreach is our Outdoor STEM Centered Educational Program (’19 serving 80 schools and 5,000 students). EFIs will deliver our modules during the fall and spring school year. EFIs can on average $100 per day plus mileage, meals and on-site housing (all camps are within 90 miles from Phoenix. New EFIs will undergo orientation and training with TCC, which will include classroom and field-based program observation.  Important to have a love to teach into the heart and minds of youth.

Staff Support Intern

This program is for interns who will provide support for our various administrative & operational positions.  These areas are; Community Engagement, Creative Services (marketing & social media), Sales & Reservations, Programming and Operations.  Support can be provided from home offices and a team member will provide direct direction and structure.  Compensation is based on educational pursue and background.
