As a parent, it's natural to sometimes feel lost and unsure about what your child needs from you, but it's so hard to know what to do sometimes. Do you follow advice from other parents, grandparents or influencers, or do your own thing? How are you meant to know?
Based on decades of research, the Circle of Security® Parenting™ programme is designed to support and strengthen the bond between parents and their children. Using the COSP™ model, which is based on decades of attachment theory, you will learn to understand your child's emotional needs and how to respond effectively.
This is a group training course for up to 8 parents of children aged 6 months to 6 years. The course is a welcoming and accepting environment where parents support each other and share their own parenting difficulties.
During the sessions, you will be guided through proven techniques and research-based strategies to help you understand your child's emotional world, support their emotional management skills, boost their self-esteem, and secure their sense of safety and trust.
This course is led by fully qualified Circle of Security® Parenting™ Facilitator and Psychotherapist, Debbie Sheringham. Debbie has worked as a Mental Health Practitioner for NHS CAMHS, and she has a background of delivering training for the BBC and charities.
Cost: TBC. We're hoping to get funding to make this course free or low cost. If we are unsuccessful in our funding bids, each session will be £15.
