Senior Parking Pass Application_YHS_ 23-24
Dear Class of 2024,

This notice is to inform you that we are now accepting applications for Senior parking passes for the 2023-2024 school year. If you wish to apply for a parking permit, please submit this google form application no later than Friday, September 1.

As a reminder, parking passes are a privilege, not a right.

Starting in the 2019-2020 school year, a non-refundable on-campus parking fee of $200 was instituted by the APS School Board.

To qualify for an approved application, the following criteria will be used:

*Students must be a member of the YHS Class of 2024.  
 
*Students must have a valid Virginia driver’s license at the time of the application. In cases where the student is a member of a military or diplomatic family, this requirement may be waived if an alternative, acceptable document is provided. 

*Students must complete and turn in a signed permission slip from their parent or guardian authorizing the student to drive or park at school. Please pick up a permission slip from the Main Office once the school year starts.  

*Students must be in good standing, which includes no school violations for parking in the designated areas without a pass (for example, if a student was repeatedly warned or ticketed for parking on campus without a decal as a sophomore or junior).

*Students agree to abide by the rules governing the privilege of parking in the student designated spaces.

*Students must participate in a parking orientation meeting.  More details to come about this meeting.

*Should the number of applications exceed the number of spaces available, a lottery will be held and passes will be awarded to the selected students.

If a lottery is needed, this will take place on Monday, September 4.  Students will receive notification of their approval for a parking pass by Tuesday, September 5. Students must submit their permission slip, show their driver's license and provide a $200 check, made payable to APS, by Friday, September 8 in order to receive their parking pass. If not, then the next eligible students will be offered the parking pass. 

Criteria Needed to be Eligible for a parking pass
  • Member of the Class of 2024
  • Student must have a valid Virginia driver's license ( exceptions may be made for military or diplomatic families)
  • Must be in good standing
Applications submitted after the September 1 deadline will not be accepted. 

Passes must be placed in the rear window of the vehicle.
