ELiTE STEM Education Fellow Application
Education fellows will support our STEM classes and help deliver high quality experiences to teach high school students core technical skills. This year, our curriculum will give students an introduction to programming with Python, utilizing the p5 python and PyGame libraries. Students will be guided and challenged to create personalized designs, animations and games.

Expected Time Commitment:
  • Classes will be hosted at Columbia University every Saturday from 10 AM - 3 PM
  • The teaching team will also meet weekly for 30 minutes to debrief the last class and prep for the upcoming class.
  • Each fellow will be responsible for prepping for the class before and can expect to dedicate at least an hour to review materials and exemplars.
  • Fellows will also be expected to attend an orientation and training session prior to the start of programming

Only indicate your availability between 8:00 am and 7:30pm. Include blocks of at least two hours. Most of our classes meet twice per week for 45 minutes. Because you will travel to-and-from schools, we are looking for free blocks of at least 2 hours of your time. The more the merrier! (3 and 4 hour windows highly preferred.) Please DO NOT add in travel time. Give us all of your availability, and we will be certain to factor travel time into your placement.
