Dear Parents/Caregivers
Your child has expressed interest in representing the school in the Harbour Hockey Intermediate (Year 7 and 8) Competition.
Details are as follows:
COMPETITION DETAILS The competition commences on Tuesday 7th May 2024. There will be 14 rounds of competition with the finals night scheduled for Tuesday the 20th of August 2024.
Game playing dates:
Tuesday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of May,
4th, 11th, 18th 25th June,
2nd, 23rd, 30th July and
6th and 13th and 20th of August 2024.
VENUE
Harbour Hockey Stadium, 159 Bush Road, Albany
or Kristin School, Albany Highway, Albany and a possibility of occasional games at Westlake Girls High School, Hibiscus Coast (Metro Park) and Mahurangi Hockey Turf.
COMPETITION PLAYING DAY AND TIME
Teams are entered into the Tuesday night competition but if there are players that cannot play on a Tuesday evening then there is an optional competition on Monday evening that we maybe able to enter if we have sufficient interest. Please complete playing details in the form below.
Games will be played anywhere between 4pm and 7.30pm
FORMAT FOR YEAR 7 AND 8 STUDENTS
All Year 7 and 8 teams will play KiwiSticks 7 aside hockey which is played on a 1/2 field.
TRAINING
Teams will have a minimum of one training per week, which will be held on the school turf either before school (7.30am to 8.30am) or after school (3.30pm to 4.30pm). Training days and times will be advised once teams and coaches are confirmed.
TRIALS
Trials are scheduled for Tuesday the 5th of March (3.30pm to 5pm)
Details will be advised to those that have registered closer to the time.
All players that are wanting to play hockey must have completed the registration process.
UNIFORM
AJHS Hockey Shirts are issues at the start of the season for use for games only. They are then required to be returned at the end of the season.
All students must wear AJHS PE Shorts and AJHS Maroon socks (Socks are $21.00 and are available from AJHS uniform shop).
EQUIPMENT
Students will require a mouthguard, hockey/sports shoes, shin pads and a mouth guard to play hockey.
TRANSPORT It is the responsibility of parent/caregivers to either transport their child to the games and trainings each week or to arrange for another parent/caregiver to transport them. The school does not provide transport for this competition.
REGISTRATION FEE
$215.00 per player for the season
COMPULSORY ADMINISTRATION FEE
$25.00 (One payment of $25.00 will be charged regardless of the number of sports played)

Friday 1st of March 2024
REGISTRATION FEE DUE DATES
$100.00 Deposit and $25.00 Sports Administration fee due by Friday 1st of March 2024 (with registration)
$115.00 Remaining Registration Fee - due by Friday 5th April 2024
REFUND POLICY:
Once teams are named there will be no refunds of Registration Fees or Sports Administration Fees unless an approved medical certificate is provided.

For this length of time and at this level of competition each school team requires a coach and a manager.
As a coach you will be required to take a minimum of one training per week and also be available at the games. For team training's the school's facilities would be available for use before or after school. Standard training times are either 7.30am in morning or 3.30pm to 4.30pm after school.
The Manager is the point of contact between the Sports Coordinator and the team. Managers are responsible for organising the team, ensuring all players and parents/caregivers are aware of game times and trainings.
Ideally the Manager will also attend games to support the team and the coach.
Without parent volunteers it is impossible for teams to participate in the competition so if you are available to assist with either role please tick the appropriate box on the form.
To ensure your child is registered for Year 7 and 8 Hockey, please complete the following form and submit by Friday 1st of March 2024. Please also ensure that the deposit of $100.00 and Sports Administration fee of $25.00 is paid by the 1st of March 2024 with the final payment of $115.00 paid by Friday 5th of April 2024.
We do offer payment plans, so if you would like to put this in place please contact me to arrange.
