2024: Student Opportunity Act Stakeholder Survey

The Student Opportunity Act (SOA) was enacted in 2019, injecting significant new funding into the Commonwealth’s educational system, with a focus on providing funding to districts serving students with the greatest needs. The law also included a provision that requires every district to set clear targets for improving disparities in achievement among student groups and develop a three-year plan to implement evidence-based strategies to meet their targets.

Orange Elementary is seeking stakeholder feedback as we develop our three-year plan, focusing on evidence-based programs and strategies that will improve the educational experiences and outcomes of all students, including English learners, students with disabilities, and low-income students.

We appreciate your feedback. Please note all responses are anonymous.

Below is a list of priority Evidence Based Programs (EBPs) identified by the Commissioner of Education at the Massachusetts Department of Education (DESE) that align with DESE's Strategic Objectives.  The priority EBPs, when implemented with integrity, will likely have an impact on students.  While our district already has a focus on many of these categories in varying degrees, we would like to know which areas are a priority focus for our stakeholders as it relates to the Student Opportunity Act.

Please rate the following EBPs form 1st to 6th for the district to focus on during our next three-year SOA cycle
