Foci MCGA is committed to building and supporting a diverse and inclusive arts community open to everyone who would like to work with glass. Foci MCGA recognizes that there are deep and persistent societal, cultural, economic, and racial barriers to making art, particularly the glass medium. One way in which Foci MCGA expresses this commitment to arts access is by removing financial barriers.
We offer two scholarship options:
-A need based half-tuition scholarship open to anyone with financial need
-A full-tuition scholarship open to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)
Students must complete and submit a scholarship application at least two months prior to the class they wish to attend. Anyone with financial need is eligible to apply for a half tuition scholarship, while BIPOC students are qualified to apply for full scholarships. One scholarship spot is available for all classes, including our visiting artist classes and youth camps; scholarship preference per class is given to the full scholarships. Due to limited scholarship funds, only one scholarship per student, per calendar year will be awarded.
We cannot guarantee scholarship placement for all applicants and will only notify selected applicants. Applications will be held for consideration up to 1 year from their submission date, after which people are welcome to reapply.
Please note that some classes on the website may appear to be sold out, however, there may still be an open scholarship spot reserved for that class. Also, some classes may have a scholarship spot still available less than 2 months before the start date. Please inquire with any questions about specific classes or availability. If there are many applications for a visiting artist workshop, we may reach out for more information to help us select a recipient.
