Related Arts 2023-2024 Interest Form- Sixth Grade
Hello to our future Mid-Carolina Middle School Rebels! We are excitedly planning for the 2023-2024 school year and would like to get information from each of you regarding the related arts portion of your schedule next year.

We were excited to host you at MCMS this spring and look forward to seeing you again late summer.  Please watch our Transition Video and view the additional links below for more information on MCMS and the upcoming school year.

Our traditional nine-weeks schedule consists of four core classes (ELA, math, science and social studies) and two related arts periods at the end of every day.

In terms of your related arts courses, we are able to offer limited choices, based on the needs of the student.

**Every student will take a nine-weeks of health and at least one nine-weeks of PE, each year.**

We also offer nine-weeks classes in art, character education, and computer education/keyboarding.
Semester classes will be Gateway to Technology and Read 180.
Yearlong classes are band, chorus, ESOL/ML and Support Services classes.
Please discuss these option with your parents.

I am interested in participating in the Gateway to Technology: Design and Modeling class.

Students discover the design process and develop an understanding of the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives. They are then challenged and empowered to use and apply what they’ve learned throughout the unit to design a therapeutic toy for a child who has cerebral palsy.  **For more information see the video below.**
