SOL Writing Test Participation Registry
Please answer 5 easy questions below after reading this introduction. All students should answer questions even if they don't plan on taking the test. A parent electronic signature required if opting out of SOL testing due to Covid concerns.

The Writing SOL Tests (2 parts) will be offered the weeks of April 19th and April 26th. Sophomores will need to take the tests in person at school on the designated days of school attendance sent out last month. Students who are not currently taking school bus transportation will need to be transported by families to school and will have the option to stay for other classes or be excused for missing parts of other classes while being transported back and forth.

The tests will be administered during World Lit 10 classes. The multiple choice portion of the test will be given during the first week and typically can be finished within one class period. The essay portion of the test will be given during the second week of testing. Because this portion may take longer than a class period, students in 7th and 8th period classes will start the test one period early to avoid missing buses (see specifics in English class sections in a question below).

As a reminder, here are the in person assignments for Monday/Tuesday vs Wednesday/Thursday. Students must follow this schedule to allow us to maintain social distancing during testing.

Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond will be split evenly.  Students with last names A-Li will be on Mon & Tues.  Students with last names Lia-Z will be on Wed & Thurs.

Goochland, Hopewell, and Powhatan will be on Mon & Tues.

Charles City, King & Queen, New Kent, Petersburg, and Prince George will be on Wed & Thurs.
