About Madrone Arts

  1. Madrone Arts is a co-op owned art gallery located in Pescadero, California.  We are a group of artists passionate in our commitment to create a local venue promoting community engagement in art.  As a co-op, we share resources, decision-making, governance, success and risk.

  3. There are two ways to participate in our gallery activities: as an artist member or as a consignee artist. At this time our membership is closed, but we are considering applications from non-member local artists to be represented for our exhibits on a contractual basis.
  4. If you are selected to be one of our consignee artists, we will request that you show one or more art pieces in the gallery for a defined period of time. There is no rental fee, but Madrone Arts will receive a sales commission of 40%.
  5. Madrone Arts only accepts signed, limited-edition prints and professionally presented artwork (including hanging hardware). All material used in pieces should be archival quality.  When we evaluate pieces for the gallery, the question we often ask is "what is being said with the art?"  Note that the final pieces selected for placement in the gallery are done through a curation process to showcase art in a harmonious and collaborative style. As such, our artists understand that some submitted art pieces may be excluded during the final curation process.   
  6. The co-op will have artist receptions at the beginning of every four-month exhibit period, to both introduce and celebrate consignee artists as well as to show new work created by our members.  By agreeing to exhibit your art at Madrone Arts, you will be encouraged to participate in these receptions and invite guests through your social media accounts.
