2021 Illinois Green Alliance Auxiliary Application

The Illinois Green Alliance Auxiliary Board is seeking talented and motivated volunteers to play an important role in the planning and implementation of programming for current and prospective Auxiliary Board and Illinois Green Alliance members in line with the following goals:

1. Assist Illinois Green Alliance in advancing their mission
2. Provide opportunities for engagement with Illinois Green Alliance members, partner organizations, and the community
3. Train tomorrow's leaders
4. Build community and create bonds
5. Attract new Auxiliary Board members and broaden the organization's reach and involvement
7. Create professional development opportunities
8. Encourage Auxiliary Board attendance at Illinois Green Alliance public programs and other events

Auxiliary Board-specific roles will be discussed in more detail at the first meeting; please expect to participate in the following ways:
- One-year commitment of being an Auxiliary Board member
- Attend at least 75% of monthly Auxiliary Board meetings (these occur after work hours)
- Plan 4 annual events focused on these key areas  - Community Engagement, Professional Development, Fundraising, and Networking*

The 2020 past events include:
- Illinois Green Alliance Auxiliary Board House Party & Fundraiser
- Virtual Sustainability Day Camp with Chicago Youth Centers Elliott Donnelly Youth Center
- Illinois Green Alliance Auxiliary Board Sustainability Credential Soup Professional Development Event

*Due to COVID-19 we have shifted all programming to a virtual setting. We will continue to follow CDC, City of Chicago, and Illinois Green Alliance protocols during 2021 with regards to our meetings and programming. This may mean creative solutions for the 4 signature events that we typically hold in-person.
