This will be used to help promote your workshop, be included in ISHPSSB newsletters, and to archive your workshop on the ISHPSSB webpage. Write this to help us pitch your meeting to ISHPSSB members, e.g., what is the topic; are there elements of the organization that will be particularly unique or interesting; etc.

Which off-year workshop goals does this workshop target? *

For example, how will this workshop drive new ISHPSSB membership, or work towards ISHPSSB diversity and inclusion goals? Workshops are not required to meet every aim listed in the call for proposals, but should meet some of them. Off-Year workshop goals are: (1) Drive new ISHPSSB membership; (2) Engage and include current ISHPSSB members; (3) Support and expand ISHPSSB diversity and inclusion goals; (4) Promotion professional development and mentoring; (5) Pilot hybrid and creative formats that might be used in future ISHPSSB meetings; (6) Support ISHPSSB’s commitment to interdisciplinary research and community building.

How does this workshop plan to include participation of junior scholars and/or graduate students? *

For example, workshops might include mentoring sessions, or reserve presentation slots for graduate students, among many other options.

ISHPSSB main meetings are in English. We support bilingual off-year workshops where appropriate, and if this encourages inclusion and membership development. We also recognize that language usage should be linked to the goals of the workshop and regional context.

Please note that ISHPSSB funds are restricted to offsetting graduate student travel costs to your workshop for ISHPSSB members; ISHPSSB funds may not be used to fund other aspects of your workshop. Historically, funding has been limited to ~$1,000 per workshop. Funds are limited this year, but funding requests will be considered until the budget is exhausted.

Aside from funding, what other forms of support are you requesting?

These may include publicizing and promotion of the workshop, requests for advice or consultation, use of the ISHPSSB GatherTown website, or other ideas you would like us to consider.
