TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course has been developed for operators who are:
• Issued or required to use a range of vehicle recovery equipment, e.g. vehicle mounted winch systems; and
• Operators who may travel to remote areas and may need to have the skills, knowledge and confidence to recover their vehicle safely and effectively.
PRE-REQUISITE:
Must have completed training course 1000163170 - Professional 4WD Off-Road Driving course or equivalent.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE:
The aim of this training programme is to equipped trainees with the knowledge, skills and
techniques required to coordinate recovery of a 4WD vehicle safely and effectively. This course provides that source of vital knowledge for the 4WD operator and offers a complete understanding of advanced vehicle recovery techniques.COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This will be a full-on day of learning about how to get your 4WD out of just about any situation you may find yourself in. This course is broken down into classroom, hands on
and practical segments throughout the day where we will cover vehicle recovery skills that all advanced 4WD operators need to have.
INCLUSIVE:
Training certificate, skills ID card and meals.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
• Understand what causes a 4WD to get stuck,
• Calculate Total Resistance (TR),
• Identify the types of recovery equipment available,
• Understand the standards & safety ratings of recovery equipment,
• Understand mechanical advantages in a recovery,
• Identify hazards, assess risks & determine suitable recovery method,
• Perform safe use of recovery equipment,
• Coordinate a recovery of a 4WD vehicle,
• Maintain recovery equipment,
• Perform minor vehicle “bush” repair,
• Determine potential environmental impact of recovery.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

Carries a valid and current driving license,
•
Your 4WD vehicle with mounted winch system,
•
A
ny recovery equipment supplied with the vehicle or purchased prior to the course,•
Appropriate clothing – long pants, closed shoes with good soles, hat and quality gloves.

This registration is not a seat confirmation. An invoice will be issued and seat will be confirmed once payment is made.
• This course requires a minimum of 4 participants. In case the requisite amount of slots are not filled, we would refund the full amount to you or put you on a wait list for the next course. Whatever you choose.
• This is a comprehensive hands-on training and groups are kept small to ensure sufficient one-to-one attention for each participant. As such, accompanying family member or friend is not allowed during the course.
• Training course will be delivered in either/both English and BM languages.
