Ten Thousand Villages Lincoln is seeking Sales Associate Volunteers during the weekends to help us engage with customers, find the perfect gifts, and share stories about our handcrafted products and fair trade mission. No previous retail experience is required - we'll provide all the training you need.
Volunteering Duties:
On the sales floor, as a volunteer, you need to be comfortable greeting customers, telling them the stories of the artisans behind the products, and operating the cash register. You might also be asked to restock the inventory, straighten or rearrange the displays, or do inventory counts. If you are not comfortable doing this, there are some opportunities behind the scenes such as assisting with the unpacking of merchandise, cleaning, recycling, etc. Volunteers are asked to volunteer for a minimum of three months. Volunteer shifts are typically 2-3 hours at a time and volunteers can sign up for shifts that that work with their schedule using an online system called
signup.com.
