Virginia Computer Science Educator of the Year (CSEOY)  Nomination Form 
Do you know an educator who is making an impact and difference in the field of computer science education? We want to know! Nominate an educator is who demonstrating excellence and commitment to expanding computer science. 

In order to be nominated for Computer Science Educator of the Year (CSEOY), the educator must:

  • Be certified to teach in Virginia public schools  

  • Employed in Virginia schools for a minimum of three years and be a full-timed educator of grades K-12

  • Plan to maintain employment in a Virginia public school for the 2023 – 2024 academic school year

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of computer science and a commitment to increase student engagement and expand computer science learning opportunities for all students. 

  • Demonstrate effective teaching practices that are directly related to student performance 

  • Demonstrate leadership and innovation within and outside the classroom that fosters a culture of lifelong learning. 

  • Participate, serve, and lead CSEOY planned activities and events from July 2023 - June 2024

  • Preference will be given to nominees who have not been recognized as overall CSEOY within the past 5 years

Self-nominations are permitted. Nominations open December 05, 2022. Nominations close January 31, 2023. One may nominate an educator for more than one category. Once an educator is nominated they will receive notification to complete the CSEOY nominee application. The nominee will confirm category submission during the application process.
