STAT Survey: Shopping Carousel Ranking URLs
Google has turned the shopping carousel SERP feature into a paid placement once again — removing any organic opportunities from it — and has dramatically increased the number of results it returns in a single carousel.

Should we:

1. Start attributing the ranking URL in a shopping carousel to google.com like we used to with the old shopping boxes? This will decrease the weight this feature has on your rankings and make it easier to remove from share of voice metrics.

2. Continue to treat shopping carousels like an organic result and attribute their ranking URLs to the individual sites? This will weight the feature more heavily in your rankings and will be calculated in share of voice metrics like organic results.

3. Stop tracking this SERP feature in STAT entirely.
