2023 Harrison County Popcorn Festival Pageant - Queen Contest Registration
Calling all Queens in Harrison County! This is going to be a really fun experience. Thank you for applying!!!
Ages 16, 17, 18, 19, 20

Thoroughly read each section and initial the rules and regulations then submit your application to Cory Williams, Pageant Chairperson, no later than Friday, June 23rd. You can:
1.) Submit this form online;
2.) Print and drop off your form to Cory Williams at Schuler Bauer Real Estate Services, 1711 Old Hwy 135 NW, Corydon, IN 47112; or
3.) Print and mail this form to Cory Williams, c/o Popcorn Festival Pageant, P.O. Box 460, Corydon, IN 47112.

There is a $35 entry fee. Registration and payment must be received no later than Friday, June 23rd. Contestants are encouraged to find a sponsor to cover their entry fee - a family member, a local business, etc. Cash or check. Make checks payable to: Harrison County Popcorn Festival

:::IMPORTANT DATES:::
Tuesday, June 27th, at Noon
- Preliminary judging will be held on Tuesday, June 27th, at Corydon Central High School in the auditorium.
- Contestants can check in between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
- In order to compete, contestants must be present no later than noon.
- Interviews can begin as early as noon.
- A box lunch will be provided at approximately 3:00 p.m.
- The red carpet will roll out at 5:00 p.m.
- The contest/pageant is open to the public. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes.
- Invite everyone you know! There is no charge for the public to enter. Donations will be accepted for the Queen Scholarship.

:::CROWNING:::
The crowning of the 2023 Harrison County Popcorn Festival Queen will be Tuesday, June 27th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Corydon Central High School auditorium. There are 4 categories:
- Interview and (business) professional wear;
- Casual attired (Show off your personality!);
- Formal wear (long, formal dress required); and
- Community involvement/leadership.

The following will be crowned and rewarded. Rewards include crowns, sashes, trophies, bouquets, cash, and a number of other phenomenal prizes:
- Queen
- 1st Runner-up
- 2nd Runner-up
- Miss Congeniality

All contestants are encouraged to but all winners must assist with the Princess, Little Kernel, and Little Kernelette contests held on Saturday, July 1st at the Hurley D. Conrad Memorial Bandstand on the Square in downtown Corydon. In addition, all winners must be in the parade at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1st.

:::FESTIVAL:::
All winners must be in attendance at the festival Friday evening and all day Saturday, June 30th and July 1st.
- Winners will be available for photos with the general public. The youth, especially little girls, look up to festival royalty!
- Winners will be presents at various activities and events taking place Friday and Saturday. i.e. Kid Zone, movie night, car show, cornhole tournament, etc.
- Winners will assist in handing out awards throughout the festival.

:::PARADE:::
All winners will be in the annual Harrison County Popcorn Festival parade - Queen contest, Princess contest, and Littles contests.
-  The parade begins at 7:00 p.m. Additional information for check-in and the parade route will be provided to the winners upon crowning.
- Winners must ride in a convertible car. No Jeeps, SUVs, or trucks. Should you need help locating a convertible car, contact Cory Williams, Pageant Chairperson, at (812) 267-3022 or via e-mail at: PopcornFestivalPageant@gmail.com

:::PASSING THE TORCH:::
The Queen agrees to return in 2024 to crown the winners. Among the additions for 2023, the Harrison County Popcorn Festival Queen will receive a $1,000 scholarship upon completion of her reign.
