BACKGROUND
2021 monthly program, speakers, mentors:
https://foresight.org/biotech-health-extension-program/Foresight’s Biotech & Health Extension Group sponsored by 100 Plus Capital is a private group of scientists, entrepreneurs, investors and institutional allies, connected as a virtual group, who meet monthly to spur field-wide progress on technologies that fight aging and increase human healthspan.
The first half of 2021 is aimed at identifying crucial areas in the field that have strong multiplier effects for advancing progress on health extension and that this group has a comparative advantage in addressing. In the second half of 2021, we support promising approaches to advancing those and other key areas via financial support, mentorship, and connections to relevant researchers, founders, and funders. Meetings are private and may be off-the-record.
THE ACCELERATOR
Apply to participate in the group's Health Extension Accelerator: Radical Progress.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
What:
The group's accelerator supports ambitious progress on health extension that will not otherwise get done. Rather than predictable incremental advances, your approach, if successful, will make a significant mark in enabling longer, healthier lives for humans alive today.
Our 2020 and 2021 meetings (recordings below) provide examples of areas you may tackle, covering lab, industry, institutional blindspots, plus specific areas, such as machine learning, biomarkers, and biohacking. However, you are welcome—in fact, encouraged—to propose an entirely new approach:

Who:
Whether you are in the ideation stage, you're driving an open-source project, your science is waiting to be turned into technology, or you've already launched a for-profit venture—if you're serious about addressing the problem and we can help, we will accelerate you.
How:
This program is designed to accommodate your existing academia and work schedules.
You commit to joining one group meeting per month, your preferred mentorship hours, and the final pitch; we commit to supporting you with mentorship opportunities, potential financial grants, a strong network, and public visibility.
Program:
January—August 2021
Monthly private keynote presentations to review avenues for progress in the health extension ecosystem, covering lab, industry, institutions, plus potential focus areas for progress, such as machine learning, biomarker standardization, and biohacking. You are invited to participate in these meetings to inform your work but you are otherwise free to improve on your project idea.
September—November 2021
Accepted projects will give an introductory pitch to the group. Based on this presentation, we coordinate personal online sessions with our mentors. They will help your project become technically sound, effective in addressing the problem at scale, well-placed in the global institutional context, and attractive to fund and execute.
Mentors:
Steve Horvath, UCLA
Nil Regge, Apollo VC
Aubrey De Grey, SENS Research Foundation
Andrew Scott, London Business School
Jim O'Neill, SENS Research Foundation

Tina Wood, Collider Health
Morgan Levine, Yale University
Gordan Lauc, University of Zagreb
Daniel Bojar, 2020 Foresight Fellow, Harvard Wyss Institute
Joris Deelen, Max Planck Institute for Aeging
