Course Objectives (Initial ERA):
At the end of this training, participants will able to:
1. Identify ergonomics risk factors and conduct ergonomics risk factors assessment
2. Understand Musculoskeletal Disorders, the symptoms and signs, and conduct
        musculoskeletal assessment
3. Report and present the findings to the stakeholder
Course Contents (Initial ERA):
1. Part 1: Introduction to Initial ERA
        a. Introduction to Ergonomics
        b. Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs): Health effect due to exposures to
                ergonomics risk factors
        c. Sign and symptoms of WMSDs
        d. Ergonomics Risk Factors
        e. Initial ERA

                i. Process of conducting Initial ERA
                          • Initiating ERA                                              
                                  -  Self-assessment form by employee – Appendix 1
                                  -  Walkthrough inspection
                                  -  Review of records
                                  -  Musculoskeletal pain and discomfort complaint form - Appendix 2
                                  -  Request by OHD or DOSH

                          • Level 1 ERA
                                  -  Musculoskeletal assessment
                                  -  Ergonomics risk factors assessment (ergonomics checklist)

                ii. What to do after Initial ERA

2. Part 4: Report writing
3. Part 5: Ergonomics control measures, improvement and record keeping
4. Part 6: Competency Evaluation

Course Objectives (Advanced ERA):
At the end of this training, participants will able to:
1. Conduct ergonomics assessment and / or in-house training to workers in their
        organization.
2. Use existing established ergonomics risk assessment method using various tools to
        cater the assessment of different types and combination of ergonomics risk factors.
3. Suggest ergonomics solutions to the problem towards improving the work conditions.
4. Report and present the findings to the stakeholder and subsequently communicate the
        outcome to the workers concerned.
