Description:   In United States v. Cooley, the U.S. Supreme Court held that tribal police officers have the authority to interrogate and briefly detain persons suspected of committing crimes within the boundaries of an Indian reservation, even though they are not tribal members. This presentation will discuss the Court's June 2021 decision in depth, and address its implications for Minnesota.
