Fifth grade Band is offered at Immaculate Conception, St. James, and St. Mary's. Band lessons are held during the school day. Lessons are no cost to you except for the rental of an instrument. This is the tentative schedule for the 2023-2024 school year.
Lessons at SJ are Monday and Wednesday
Lessons at SM are Tuesday and Thursday
Lessons at IC are Friday afternoons.
Students at SJ and SM will be assigned to a day and they will have their lesson on the same day each week.
I put together a slide show of this year's band students with their instruments. Please look through the slide show to help answer any questions about the instruments offered and how lessons work.
Please fill out the registration form completely if you are interested or if not interested. Please note we will do our best to allow each child to play his/her first choice, but in the interest in creating a well-balanced band, we may need to assign a second or third choice. Please have this form completed by June 20th. When the form is completed I will email you back with final list of instrumentation. When you receive the final list you may rent an instrument but do not play the instrument until the week of band camp July 31-August 4. A schedule for that week will be sent when I know how many of each instrument we have.
You will need to rent/purchase an instrument, accessories, Traditions of excellence book for your instrument from either Eckroth Music or Schmitt Music. Once you have rented an instrument, please wait until your first lesson to play the instrument so we begin with good habits and correct formation.
