Do you have a fun ski and ride story to share? Whether it’s an anecdote about a day trip adventure or a month-long mission, we want to hear about how you're enjoying the spring snow! You do not need to be a professional skier or splitboarder to submit a story. We encourage you to fill out an additional submission form if you have multiple stories to tell. Stories do not need to be PNW-focused, though we will likely select more presentations based in the Cascadia region. Presenters will have the option to share for 5, 10, or 15 minutes.
Here are some story examples to get the wheels turning...bringing your kiddo on their first-ever overnight tour, descending a bucket list peak by sticks/plank (e.g. Mt. Adams, Jack Mountain, Bootalicious peak), a traverse long in the making (e.g. Snoqualmie Haute Route, Tatoosh traverse, traverse de-Issaquah Alps), etc.
To say "thank you!" for presenting, speakers will leave with a The Bight: Adventure Stories swag bag.
Please note: Feathered Friends and Cascade Backcountry Alliance will be publishing blog posts featuring the presented stories, and by agreeing to be a presenter, you are consenting to the use of your photos and written words to use for said blog posts. You will be cited as the author for these photos and stories.
Selected presenters will be expected to:
- Present for their chosen timeframe (5, 10, or 15 minutes) and answer audience questions
- Provide a map and photo highlights showcasing their adventure (this is not the event to talk about your secret pow stash!)
- Submit presentation slides by April 11th
- Be at Feathered Friends Seattle on April 18th, prepared to present
- Hang out afterwards to chat with folks about your presentation
Important Dates:
- 4/1 Form closes to submissions
- 4/5 Final presenters will be notified
- 4/11 Presentation slides due
- 4/18 Present at The Bight: Spring Ski & Ride
