OBBA Scholarship Application
Orono Basketball Association (OBBA) provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships for athletes wishing to play in the Orono Basketball Association K-8 Program under the following guidelines:
  • Athlete must be a resident of the Orono School District or attend an Orono school to apply for scholarship.
  • Scholarships may include full or partial coverage of the registration fees and program costs.
  • Athlete and his/her family may be asked to pay a portion of the fees or costs associated with the program, including uniform costs.
  • Scholarships will be awarded based upon both financial need and availability of funds.
  • Scholarships requests made after the Registration Deadline may not be accepted. Scholarships are provided on a rolling basis based upon the funds available for that season. Therefore, early application is strongly recommended.
  • Families of athletes who are recipients of a scholarship from OBBA are expected to complete volunteer hours in accordance with OBBA’s volunteer policy. Failure to complete volunteer hours in any given season may disqualify an athlete and that athlete's family members from consideration for scholarships in the following season.
  • A separate application is requested for each child seeking a scholarship from the same family/household.
  • Information gathered through the application process is confidential and will not be shared or disclosed outside of OBBA and will only be used in an effort to determine eligibility.
