Supergirl Summer Camp is a 501c.3 non-profit whose mission is to empower and inspire the next generations of young girls to dream big as they grow up, create practical possibilities for future career paths through motivating role models, teach fundamental life skills needed to participate in society, encouragement to embrace their natural leadership skills, and self-confidence to handle anything life throws their way.
Throughout the week of the camp, we will be introducing the
girls to highly motivated and influential female guest speakers who are experts
in their respective fields. They will share their stories, and perhaps may
resonate with and inspire the girls to desire to pursue similar career paths
and possibilities.
Talks to the girls will be in a large group setting. They will be informal in nature, to keep it more personable and relatable. Because of the age ranges of our girls (7-18yrs old), the more motivating and inspiring the conversation, the easier it will be to maintain engagement and participation. The more "fun" the talk, the better!
We will have audio/visual aids available for slide shows or videos if you'd like to share examples of your backstory or profession. With prior approval, you may also perform demonstrations, experiments, etc.
We will allow some time following your talk for question/answers from the girls. You may appear on stage in a chat/interview related setting with other female speakers in similar industries based on our day's theme (i.e. S.T.E.M., Law Enforcement/First Responder, Small Business/Entrepreneur, etc.) Overall talks shouldn't last more than an hour, 15-30 min per speaker depending on participation and your style of speech.
If you would prefer to talk to the girls in a smaller group setting, we can set you up at one of the activity/event tables the girls will be rotating through. From there, you can engage and interact with the girls as well as share your trade, craft, or experiments.
Our hope is that your story and profession will resonate with some of our girls and they will be motivated and inspired to perhaps desire to grow up to be like you!
