Dear youth organisations,

We are in process of membership drive for youth engagement mechanism / constituency to United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and would like to invite interested youth organisations and individuals to join this process.

This is a sign-up form for organisations.

What is UNEP ?
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations Organisation which concentrates on environmental issues. It is governed by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment. UNEA addresses the critical environmental challenges facing the world today. Understanding these challenges and preserving and rehabilitating our environment is at the heart of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Environment Assembly meets biennially to set priorities for global environmental policies and develop international environmental law. Through its resolutions and calls to action, the Assembly provides leadership and catalyses intergovernmental action on the environment.

More details on UNEP and UNEA can be found at: www.unenvironment.org

Since the establishment of stakeholder engagement under UNEP processes through the UNEA rules and procedures in 2013, there are 9 major groups and 6 regional caucuses that coordinate the engagement of non-state actors within the work and proceedings of UN Environment. 2 Focal Points (through their respective accredited organisations) from each of the 9 constituencies, and 2 regional representatives (through their respective accredited organisations we well) from each of the 6 regions form the broader UN Environment Major Group Facilitation Committee that works with UN Environment, member states, other stakeholders of relevance and the respective constituencies / groups they serve.
