#LatinaGeeks Lead Volunteer Application (Treasurer)                                                          
Organization Description
Our mission is to empower and inspire Latinas by sharing technical knowledge, business skills and entrepreneurship resources through hands-on workshops and community events.

#LatinaGeeks is a nonprofit organization with chapters across the western United States. Our chapters are led by volunteers who are the heart and soul of the organization. Their contributions and leadership are critical to fulfilling our mission. Lead volunteers play a vital role in helping to create an organizational culture to support and empower women in technology, while also fostering global citizens and powerful agents of change in the United States.

Position Description
The chapter secretary and treasurer works with the chapter president and chapter vice president to execute on strategic plan and implement regular activities of the chapter effectively.  

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that the chapter follows all #LatinaGeeks policies and procedures
Ensures chapter annual plan and budget are on file with the #LatinaGeeks home office
Supports chapter president with the collection of chapter advisory board donations and reporting
Responds to messages sent to the chapter email address

Financial Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages chapter budget, expenses, donations, etc.
- In collaboration with the president, develops a strategy and plan to engage businesses and citizens to support the cause or mission of the organization
- Work with marketing coordinator to encourage community members to set up automatic recurring donations, and support and promote #LatinaGeeks’ annual appeal to chapter members
- Work with secretary to maintain the confidentiality of all individual member donations and contact information

Minimum Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to convey a vision of #LatinaGeeks’ strategic future to volunteers and donors
- Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills by maintaining clear and effective communication.
- Demonstrates ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task effectively
- Strong organizational abilities
- Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exhibits ability to think creatively and analytically, possessing strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Has first hand experience working with Latina communities and demonstrates cultural sensitivity to the needs of the population; ideally bilingual/bicultural
- Education and/or professional experience in business, technology, or nonprofit
- Experience or ease of working in a start-up nonprofit environment
- Experience or ease of working remotely with teams
